I generally make note of both new construction and building demolition here in my hometown—it’s part of Erie’s architectural cycle of life after all.  I’m always concerned that something of significance may be wiped away, but perhaps more importantly I dread a building’s new replacement project.
Cycling around 18th Street recently I came upon this demo/rehab project.  I’m assuming the portion of the building fronting 18th Street is the only portion that will be destroyed and the remaining portion is going to be rehabbed.  I could be wrong.
Regardless, I was taken with the architectural details of the door on the right and I had to get a photo.  Little did I know that a woman would appear in the left door.  Another photo, a bit creepy, is here in my flickr stream.
